A very special afternoon

 Final Four week-end 18 and 19 June 2022

Attached picture is from Gothenburg, one of the elected venues for WM Men 2023. France and Spain may be split apart. Spain will be in beautiful Krakow ! Shock horror Macedonia trip not yet booked and fixtures lists always an issue.

Notwithstanding the declined media application having the relevant press and photography cards, this afternoon grinds to a halt.

No wordings, no canvassing, no outdoor activity, no personal shopping. All eyes on the Holy Siege of Handball. In Koln we trust. It is St Bruno’s city after all.

I must be at the polling station in South West London early doors on Sunday and there is no private jet for a fan to do the Koln commute.

It is very rare to have four teams that you really like. That is true. For all sorts of reasons and emotions. In a short space of time: in just over ten years.

Kielce v Veszprém, Kiel v Barcelona. Seriously there is no better thing in the world than watching the two matches.

Imagine the ferocious battles involving each and every position, whether outfield or keeper. A genuine handball party at the majestic sports Lanxess Arena.

Let’s have a guess on who is going to win. No harm done to my handball friends whether players, managers or fellow handball geeks. Guessing game disclaimer is that I got it completely wrong on the eve of last round of group matches in the European Handball League. Back then I had only a vested interest in the fortunes of two clubs. Maybe three. None of them qualified for the Lisbon treat. With all due respect, the final’s result was rigged. The equalising goal should have never stood and the extra time should have never occurred in the first place. Handball is also about fair play and I feel really aggrieved when it appears so obvious that something goes wrong. Would like things to change for the better.

1 Kielce 2 Kiel 3 Barcelona 4 Veszprém
