Champions League predictions outcome and European League sorrows

Ah ha miles away at times notably when French teams were involved !  But some Women Champions League predictions were very close !


FTC - Brest Bretagne      20-21    (prediction was 32 - 26)  

Watched the game and 12-goal Jaukovic and Cleo silenced FTC

Banik - Krim  29 - 42  (prediction was 22 - 29)  

Clearly Krim on an easy ride but did not expect such a gap and so many goals obviously.

Lokomotiva  Zagreb - Buducnost  24-25  (prediction was 28 - 29)  At least got the winner and goal difference right !

Gyori - Metz    24-28  (prediction was 40 - 26)  [Started watching the match and suprised how Gyori were weak and how the French team made Gyori look so ordinary. THAT WAS SO UNPREDICTABLE but miles away]

Vipers - Odense  34-27  (prediction was 32 - 28)

Vipers recruited well and are hot favourites again this season. This game must have been exciting to watch but did not make the effort to put one game on the phone and another on the PC. I was not far in my prediction.

Kastamonou - Rapid Bucharest 26  - 33  (prediction was 27 - 27)

I listened to Sophy Ridge interviews instead and I did not switch on any other channel. Did not expect such a Rapid performance.

CSM Bucharest - Bietigheim  28 - 28 (prediction was 33 - 30) 

I was meant to watch it but fell asleep owing to early rise  and missed this one and  also missed out on HBC Nantes - Ivry live not through BeIn

One important point for Bietigheim. 

Esbjerg - Storhamar 35 - 25  (prediction was 36 - 27)  THAT WAS A PRETTY GOOD GUESS or close enough


Its Men European League Round 2 qualifying this Tuesday. And highlighted in black likely team who is to qualify over two legs. Some fixtures are much trickier than you think.  European League sorrows as USAM are not in it this year. Aupa Irunea !

That's it the group stage draw for the EHF European League is at our fingertips with today's additional qualified teams in green Aguas Santas Milaneza - Belenenses  3 ahead on low scoring  Aguas should go through but not likely to be the most attractive match.
