Germany 2019 - Day XI Germany vs Croatia as a fan
As feared and as expected I will have to get back to my seat for the Croatia - Germany match.
This will be my seating position. Not too bad !
Usual suspects for Croatia have scored at least 20 goals each over the 6 first matchs (5 preliminary and 1 main round) : Duvnjak (21), Stepancic (24), Horvat (28), Strlek (21).
Croatia made it a perfect five before the Brazil 'disaster'.
As for Germany, Uwe scored 36 goals when the rest of goals being evenly split with a median of 10 goals. Fath has shined with 18 goals so far. He was man of the match against Iceland.
Germany scored more than 30 goals on three occasions but did not score many goals when faced with defenses well drilled such as Iceland (24) and France (25). The Russia match was a bit out of sort statistically speaking as it finished in a low scoring 22-22. Those low-scoring tight matchs from the so-called old days.
Who will stop the ball to their advantage? France want looking to qualify without playing but I do not think that it is to their benefit. Also I want a draw so that Spain could still qualify. Hence my slight wrath at referees who subsequently apologised. The atmosphere after the match with the German fans celebrating their way to the semis was really fun to see.
